Fundamentals of Competitive Transportation Grants - Online Technical Training

Join us on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 for a webinar on Competitive Transportation Grants featuring Tammy Wierciak and Seema Wadia of Metro Strategies Group. 

This presentation will provide an overview of various regional, state and federal transportation grant programs including new programs under the Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act (IIJA). Participants will also learn tips and strategies to:

Tammy works with municipalities and regional agencies to lead public engagement, oversee agency coordination and create funding strategies for a variety of planning and infrastructure projects.  With over 20 years of experience, Tammy devises winning strategies to move projects forward. Tammy has helped communities secure almost $10 million in funding for major infrastructure projects and priorities. Additionally, she has extensive experience with the state and federal agreements process, having overseen the administration of STP, CMAQ, ITEP and SRTS funds for local projects during her time at the West Central Municipal Conference. Tammy has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Service Management.


Seema specializes in grant writing, policy research and project management for government and nonprofit clients. She has over 22 years of experience working with health, environmental, transportation and human service agencies during all phases of program management—from planning and implementation to evaluation for a range of issues. Seema has helped government and nonprofit clients receive over $35 million in approved awards for their projects and is a past board president of the Grant Professionals Association Chicago Area Chapter. She has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Environmental Studies.
