Awesome turnout at our June luncheon last week featuring Amanda Woodall of Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT)! As Senior Bikeways Planner on CDOT's Complete Streets team, Amanda shared valuable insights into the agency's approach to implementing bike facilities across the region and highlighted some exciting neighborhood greenways in Portage Park coming soon. Great discussions were had regarding the incredible leaps we've made in recent years, as well as the ongoing effort needed to create safer streets for all users!
Lastly, shoutout to 3D printing aficionados Tyler Hartman and Matt McSweeneyfor working with our Activities Committee chairs, Danh Nguyen and Jason Man! Inspired by TexITE – ITE Texas District, the team developed custom traffic cone speaker gifts featuring the ITE Illinois Section logo!
This collaboration showcased the impact of ITE by bringing together members from across the country to create something fun and meaningful to express gratitude for our section's speakers!
